Summary:
As a Senior Energy Engineer focused on projects in New York City, you will play a crucial role in coordinating and leading a comprehensive energy management and reduction plan across various NYC agencies.
This position requires exceptional project management skills, field work, and a deep understanding of building systems that impact energy usage.
You will oversee the day-to-day operations of a large-scale technical quality assurance program aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and ensuring the efficient operation of NYC-owned and supervised buildings.
Aligning with the Mayors initiative on greenhouse gas emissions, your responsibilities will include oversight of building rehabilitation, repair, and maintenance.
This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on the citys sustainability goals while performing highly technical duties and coordinating diverse projects.
Other related work may also be assigned.

Location:
Energia is based in Smithtown, New York and performs activities on a hybrid work schedule.
This role will primarily work in NYC on worksites and is expected to attend in-person strategic and planning meetings as needed.
Core Duties and
Responsibilities:
To excel in this role, you must perform the following responsibilities effectively, with the possibility of additional duties as assigned.

Act as the chief coordinator for capital and other projects, overseeing building rehabilitation, repair, and maintenance services for City-owned and supervised buildings.
Conduct in-depth technical assessments and design reviews, particularly related to boilers and HVAC systems.
Provide guidance and oversight during the commissioning process to ensure projects align with design intent, design basis, and owner project requirements.
Conduct field verification by witnessing and testing to ensure project quality and adherence to design.
Perform feasibility studies for quality assurance energy efficiency projects, including preliminary design development, review of project electrical and mechanical requirements, cost estimates, project savings and overall life-cycle cost analysis; conducts energy modeling to assess project savings and impact.

Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you should meet the following qualifications.
Preference given to individuals currently residing in New York City.

Education/
Experience:
4-year engineering degree from an accredited college or university.
Project management and/or administration.
Strong knowledge of and experience with New York City building codes, construction standards, and energy codes.
Familiarity with ASHRAE standards.
Candidates with certifications such as CEA, CEM, CBCP, PMP, and/or BOC Level II are preferred.
Extensive expertise in building energy systems, including lighting, HVAC, BMS/pneumatic controls, electrical, etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Excellent technical written and oral communication skills.
Must be able to be onsite at NYC worksite locations in person.
Recommended Skills Administration Assessments Building Management System (Bms) Certified In Exhibition Management (Cem) Certified Project Management Professional Communication Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
