Network Support Engineer - Level 3 Onsite Hauppauge, Long Island, NY (5 days a week) 6 Months Contract to Hire
Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Level III Network Support Engineer to support their clients with complex technical issuesThe role will involve a range of IT support from network troubleshooting, hardware maintenance, desktop services, server administration, etc Required Skills:
Travel locally throughout Long Island, with occasional travel to NYC and Westchester Provide comprehensive desktop technician support, addressing Level I, II, and III service ticket requests and problems Document and track client issues, assessing, resolving, and escalating as necessary Liaise with third-party vendors for warranty service repair and communicate unresolved issues to senior management Conduct general break/fix and preventative maintenance functions, both in-house and at customer locations Perform installation and configuration of computer hardware, operating systems, and applications Handle Client VPN setup and troubleshooting Resolve network and connectivity issues, both in-house and onsite Provide expert support for various types of servers, including but not limited to:
File servers:
Ensuring efficient file storage and access for users Web servers:
Managing and maintaining web hosting services Database servers:
Supporting databases and ensuring optimal performance Application servers:
Assisting with deployment and maintenance of applications Technical
Experience:
Network and connectivity setup and troubleshooting Proficient in Hyper-V and VMware virtualization technologies Proficient with designing, maintaining and troubleshooting complex networks Proficient in handling Mail Application/Exchange/Office 365 issues In-depth knowledge of various operating systems (Mac-OS, Windows) Active Directory expertise, including account creation/modification and password resets Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite 2007 and beyond Experience with anti-virus technologies and troubleshooting Client VPN setup and troubleshooting Background and Skills Required:
Bachelor's Degree, Technical Degree, or equivalent work experience preferred 5
years of experience providing end-user support for current PC desktops, application software, and user server administration 5
years of troubleshooting and repairing personal computers in a corporate networked environment 2
years of experience in the financial industry, preferably within a private equity firm or hedge fund 2
