EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/
Qualifications:
High School graduate preferred.
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language and possess basic arithmetic skills.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and accept constructive criticism.
Previous housekeeping experience in a health care setting preferred.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL
Qualifications:
1.
Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
Ability to perform the functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
2.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk and climb stairs and ladders occasionally and for extended periods of time throughout the workday.
3.
Position requires the ability to frequently turn, stoop, lift, carry, bend, push and pull heavy carts and equipment in excess of 50 lbs.
4.
Position involves repetitive and routine tasks and is also subject to frequent interruptions.
5.
Possesses the manual dexterity and ability to operate machines and equipment such as, but not limited to, automated floor scrubbing machine, vacuum cleaners, ladders, shampoo machines, high-pressure washers, clothes washers and dryers, sewing machines and small tools.
6.
Position involves the use of cleansers, germicides, solvents and harsh chemicals.
May be exposed to infectious waste, diseases and conditions, etc.
including exposure to the hepatitis B virus.
SCOPE:
Cleans and maintains cleanliness of all areas of the building and its contents as assigned.
Performs a variety of housekeeping functions.
Performs tasks effectively to maintain a clean, orderly, safe, aseptic, functional and pleasant environment for both residents and staff.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
1.
Performs daily housekeeping functions as assigned.
2.
Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
Remove dirt, dust, etc.
from equipment or floor surfaces using cleaning, disinfecting, and deodorizes products as appropriate.
3.
Cleans floors as per procedures including sweeping, dusting and damp/wet mopping.
Assures that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly in place prior to performing such duties, as per procedure.
4.
Clean and sanitize all bathrooms and tub rooms as per procedure.
5.
Keeps walls and ceilings clean by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning and disinfecting as required.
6.
Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
Replenish all paper dispensers and other related duties as instructed by the supervisor.
7.
Prepares resident rooms for new admissions.
8.
Assures that work/cleaning schedule is followed as required.
9.
Reports all accidents/incidents to supervisor.
10.
Coordinates daily cleaning services when performing routine assignments in resident living areas.
11.
Maintains external areas including the removal of snow.
12.
Notes repairs, painting, special cleaning and maintenance needs and reports to immediate supervisor.
13.
Sets up, prepares, services and cleans after various functions and events in the buildings, meeting rooms and on the grounds of the facility.
14.
Assures that adequate supplies are maintained in closet to meet the daily needs of the residents.
Keep supervisor informed of supply needs.
Uses materials, equipment and supplies carefully, safely and economically, as instructed.
15.
Maintains records of assignment, supplies, tools and equipment following policy.
Maintains related documentation as assigned or instructed.
16.
Attends and participates in departmental meetings, on the job training programs and in-service education classes as required.
17.
Maintains infection, pest and rodent, and odor control as assigned.
18.
Responsible for cleanliness of assigned area, care of materials and equipment.
Assures that work areas are maintained in a clean, safe and sanitary manner.
19.
Follows proper and established body mechanics and safety techniques while performing duties.
Assures that established infection control and universal precautions and practices are maintained while performing housekeeping procedures.
20.
Maintains a neat and professional appearance at all times.
Wears proper uniform and name badge.
Wears appropriate protective clothing devices when performing tasks that require handling chemicals, infectious waste and or blood/body fluids.
21.
Coordinate isolation procedures with nursing services.
Report all hazardous conditions or equipment to supervisor.
22.
Must assist in deliveries and transporting of materials, furniture and/or equipment.
23.
Performs all other related duties as directed or assigned.
24.
MUST BE COVID VACCINATED About the Company:

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
